Criminal law is one of our three areas of expertise. The criminal law department covers every branch of criminal law, from relatively simple traffic offences to complex fraud cases and extradition proceedings.

Defending the rights of the accused is our top priority in criminal cases. Suspects are presumed innocent and cannot be forced to incriminate themselves. Everyone has the right to a fair trial before  an independent, impartial tribunal.  If somebody is suspected of having committed a criminal offence in the Netherlands or abroad, he/she will usually feel the full force of the police and judicial authorities. Vigilant, expert legal advice is crucial to upholding the rights of the individual in such a situation.

Besides the many 'ordinary' criminal cases dealt with by BFKW, the firm is also known for defending cases in the public eye . The right to a fair trial  comes under even greater pressure in such high-profiled matters,  which our experience and expertise well equip us to handle.
